Fragrance Inspired by Mexico,
Not everyone knows that the perfumer behind the Australian indie artisanal brand Fort & Manlé, the self-taught Rasei Fort, also has a little project on the side under his own name, Rasei Fort. We wrote about it first in 2019 when he launched the first creation within this line, named Kolonya.
Kolonya was described by Rasei as "a retrospective work of my first olfactive experiences," but for his second opus he dove into the world of Mexican legends. "It's inspired by one of the most famous and tragic legends of Mexico, which took place in Guanajuato and has become one of the strongest symbols of love there is." The legend is referred to by some as "the Mexican Romeo-and-Juliet story" and has a very sad ending.
With Mexico in mind, Rasei Fort created a fragrance based on a mixture of a few things that he had experienced in Mexico-- the dry desert air, flan dessert, and tequila. He named it Cielito Lindo (Literally 'Beautiful Little Sky' but mostly used as a term of endearment, like 'Sweetheart').
Cielito Lindo comes in a 100 ml flacon of Eau de Parfum and is announced as a limited edition. The composition is built from notes of Cinnamon, Caramel, Tequila, Labdanum, Rose, Ambergris, Tonka bean, Incense, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Vanilla, and Musk.
